What is a cookie?
Currently, cookies are used on virtually all websites, as they provide you with a given service and improve the experience for you as a user and customer.
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on the user's IT-equipment (PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.) so the equipment can be recognised. Cookies can be used to compile statistics about users' utilisation of the website, and to optimise the site’s content. A cookie is a passive file, and thus cannot collect information from the user's computer or spread computer viruses or other malware. Some cookies are inserted by parties (so-called third parties) other than the web address (URL) stated in the browser's address bar. This can be general content, as well as analytical tools or nested comment fields. This means that cookies from parties other than the website owner are stored on the site. Some cookies – so-called ‘session cookies’ – are only stored on the user's IT equipment whilst the user has their browser open. Other cookies – so-called ‘persistent cookies’ – are stored for longer. When the user revisits a site, session cookies will be reset, while persistent cookies are typically renewed periodically.

For instance on Google or on the support pages of common browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox or Opera you can search on how to remove or avoid cookies. You can also read about blocking and deleting cookies, and about private browsing as an alternative to deleting/blocking cookies, at http://minecookies.org/cookiehandtering/ (Danish Media). However, we hope you will not delete or block cookies, as this may adversely affect your user experience when using our site. Becksöndergaard does not assume any liability with respect to removal or blocking of cookies.
Why do we provide information on cookies?

The information must be in accordance with the Danish law ‘Executive order on the information and consent required for storing and accessing of information in end-user terminal equipment’ (colloquially known as the “cookie regulation”).
